Please Note: A £20 deposit is charged to anyone selecting our free service option. This is credited on completion of your repair, or retained by us should you decide not to continue with you repair. Our free collect and deliver service is subsidised by Apple in order to support consumer repairs, and is therefore not available for businesses. This service is also provided without courier insurance. By selecting a non-insured service, you understand and accept that Sync cannot and will not be liable should your device become lost or damaged in transit.

FAQ’s

Repair times may vary based on the specific device or issue. On average however, our current repair time is 3 to 5 working days for iOS, or 7-10 working days for Mac devices – with days calculated from the date your device arrives with us for repair.

When booking our free collect and return repair service, you will be charged £20 as a deposit.

For warranty repairs, all deposits will be refunded on completion of the repair.

For non-warranty repair, the deposit will be taken off the final repair bill.

If, at any point you decide not to continue with the repair, fail to submit your device to the courier on your selected collection date, have your device returned with ‘no faults found’, or decline a repair (e.g. if your device is beyond economic repair) then we will keep the deposit to cover the cost of logistics for the device to that point.

It is important to note that the deposit is separate from the diagnostic fee. If your device undergoes diagnostics and you decline the repair, we will retain the deposit and you will still be charged the full diagnostic fee. The deposit will be retained to cover the logistics and handling costs, and the diagnostic fee will be charged to cover the diagnostic works carried out on your device.

In Warranty Repairs: If your repair is covered under warranty then there will be no diagnostic charge.

If, when processing your device, we discover that the item issue is not covered under warranty, in that: no fault is found, the fault is caused solely by software, or if the device has been damaged (and therefore not in warranty), you agree to pay our standard non-warranty diagnostic charge of £12 for iOS or £40 for Mac to cover the work completed to that point.

Non-Warranty Repairs: If your repair is not covered under warranty the prices for diagnostics are £12 for an iOS device and £40 for a Mac.

If you choose to go ahead with the repair, the diagnostic fee will not be charged, you will only pay for the repair. Once our technicians have performed the diagnostic, they will be able to provide an accurate quote for the work and then you can decide if you wish to proceed.

Yes, before sending in the device please remove ‘Find My iPhone’ from your iPhone or iPad. You can do so by signing out of iCloud on the device or via iCloud.com.

Unless the fault relates to an issue with an accessory, you do not need to return any cables with the device. If applicable, please ensure the SIM card has been removed before sending in the device.

Sync are an Apple Authorised Service Provider, and as such all parts come directly from Apple, and all repairs are performed by Apple Authorised Technicians.
